Foxtaile update

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve updated, but I have finally been able to get some freetime this weekend. The first 2/6 script of Foxtaile is already completed, I hope to finish the 2/5 of the game will be completed at least by Wednesday, give or take a day or to I spend on school work.

I finally got some more time and inspiration to work on Foxtaile, and I think I may have an idea on how I’ll create the backgrounds for the game too. Only time will tell how far I’ll get on this game, but I plan to have the story fully scripted by mid October at the latest. Wish me luck!

More on Foxtaile

Well, it seems maybe two of the music for the Foxtaile soundtrack actually work, while about 36+ music clips don’t. Unfortunately, the musician is really hard to contact, despite the fact that I set up a AIM to contact, left two comments on his website, and sent him an email, he still didn’t get get in contact with me. I sure hope the music aseptic of Foxtaile picks up soon, because it was the only fully complete area I thought I didn’t have to worry about. But if I can’t get a copy of all the music from the composer, then I don’t know what I’ll have to do…

On the bright side though, I did find two more artists willing to help out with Foxtaile and take some of the weight load off of Rioka, so that’s good. One of the artists goes by the name JoaoDavid and his deviant account can be found here and the other goes by the name nunofrias and he can be found here. I also have a possible person willing to do the background for Foxtaile, but only time will tell.

Foxtaile Status

I finally managed to go over the whole script of Foxtaile and it is stunning how much artwork that needs to be completed in order for this game to be complete. Since I don’t want to break Rioka’s back with the heavy responsibility of handling all those images. She might quit on me! I would if I had to do all the images on my own.
So I posted a help wanted thread on deviant, heck I might post one on wordpress too. Hopefully someone wants to help, or else I’ll have a lot of artwork to get started on…

What I would like:

Around 3 background artists: only because we have plenty of backgrounds, some of them needing several different variations and I don’t like to put to much pressure on just one person

A character artist: Hopefully one for Hideharu, he has the most expression and changes of clothes ever and he’s a whole other project in himself. It would be nice if I can get two people to draw his sprite, but not everyone draws the exact same way, which is to bad.

Special events artist: There are plenty of special scenes needed for this game, so the person who would like this job should know how to draw some animals and/or a group of people, and other events needed for Foxtaile.

Well, there’s my wish list for this Christmas.

2nd Project- Foxtaile

Taleweaver gave me permission to finish the game he started named Foxtaile. The story is already written, some of artwork is already done, and it has loads of music, but there is still some work to be done. I’m going to remake all the backgrounds, I have to put everything on Renpy and who knows how many other things need to be completed before this project is finished.

Foxtaile takes place in the aftermath of the Japanese civil war (the Sengoku Jidai; around 1600). The worlds of gods and men collide when a wounded samurai is rescued by a group of fox spirits. A tale of trust and betrayal, of love and loss follows, and the outcome is determined by the actions of a single female fox spirit: You.

Luckily I like a challenge, I don’t mind doing the background over, and the artist for Foxtaile is willing to work with me on this. Here is some pictures were drawn for the story. As you can see, the game already has awesome artwork, and it even has a voiced introduction, which I think is amazing.

1st Completed project

My first renpy project was finished in the spirit of Mother’s Day, though I wouldn’t really consider it a game. As a side note though, I’m really glad to be finished with my project, no matter how small it maybe.  I learned a lot of new things with just this project alone, I can’t wait to see what I’ll figure out in the next couple of projects.
